Barley Burrow is not a term-time only setting and holds its own individual holiday/ break/ closure dates (these may co-inside with Half term dates.
Barley Burrow closes:
- All bank holidays
- 1 week spring break - at the end of May/ beginning of June
- 2 weeks summer break (July/ august)
- 1 week Autumn Break (mid-end of October)
- 2.5 weeks Christmas

Reserving a space!
Initial sign up and spaces can be secured with a deposit/ reservation fee of £150.
£100 of this is deducted from Fees within your Last Term with us/ end of your time with us when the Correct two calendar months notice has been given. This will not be refunded when the correct notice has not been given.
£50 is used and not refunded in last term and is kept to cover the costs of sign up, A Barley Burrow polo top and personalised kit bag for your little one. In the circumstance which you no longer require/ need childcare for your child, this fee then covers us then also for the loss of your custom and potential parents that were refused childcare to accommodate your child’s space (deposit will not be refunded in this circumstance)

How to pay the deposit:
Payments can be made via bank transfer to Barley Burrow Creative childcares business account, using your child’s name and ‘DEP’ as the reference
e.g. Sarah smith DEP

​Payment information can be found of the Reserving a space steps sent to you via email following your enquiry/confirming required space.

Straight after paying your deposit please email Lucy (Owner/ Creator) barley_burrow@outlook.com to confirm payment had been made and provide the following details:

- Child’s Full name
- Child’s DOB
- Child’s Full Address
- Best contact Number for you
- Confirmed Days / sessions you would like your child to attend and
whether you are looking for term-time only care or all year- round
care (Barley Burrow Closure dates exempt)
- Whether you will be paying for sessions or using Government
Funding (Funding options can be found on your look around hand out
or via our website https://www.barleyburrowcreativechildcare.com/
Please ensure all point above are covered for a speedy and accurate sign up.
What happens next:

Within a week of settling your deposit and sending this email, You will receive an email from us confirming receipt of payment.
You will then be sent a ‘welcome pack’ to the address you have given, addressed to your child. Within the welcome pack you will receive important forms to complete and return by a certain date, information for you to keep and refer to if and when needed.
We will also arrange a home visit to come and meet the child in their most confident environment and support you with any concerns/ questions you may have and a two -hour Free Taster for your child (we aim for this to be the day before your child’s first day so that all is fresh in their mind) and their official first day.
How do Fees work ?
Fees are calculated Termly:
September- December
January- March
April - August
and divided into equal monthly payments for that term. (e.g September to December Fees will be calculated and totalled for the 4 months (taking closures into account) and Divided into 4 equal amounts)
Fees will be sent via the Interactive app which we use "Blossom Educational" around the 10th of every month for the Following month and are required to be settled by the 20th of Every month.
Fees will be issued one month In advance (e.g Septembers invoice will be issued in August)

Session Prices include - 'Blossom Educational' (a parent and setting interactive app that provides updates, a chat column, daily diaries and parent news and much more!), consumables (stated) and usables, The BLAST Programme implemented by a trained member of the team to boost child's communication and turn taking skills (3+ years) and Outings around the Local area. Special outings (e.g. sot-play and workshops additional cost
The Service Fee
Barley Burrow charges a service Fee for Funding Claimers
A Daily fee of £7 for 3&4 year olds
A Daily fee of £5 for 2-year-olds
(This is reviewed annually with inflation and will be reflected in a small rise from April 2025 please see in sections above).

The Funds the setting receives from the government sadly only covers us for the ‘Childcare’ of your children and nothing else, all extra costs must be accounted for.
This service charge covers the costings for the extras that Barley Burrow creative childcare and early years learning Provides. This Fee is Compulsory for a space and un- changeable to cater individual requests as it enables us to give and provide the type and standard of Early years learning we deem essential for children to truly thrive, and become confident, Kind and clever and for the overall full package service we provide.

Consumables - Water, Milk, Snacks, Sun Cream (Breaky and Lunches additional costs apply)

Usables - such as wipes, loo roll, hand soap, face and hand cloths

The ‘Blossom Educational’ interactive app which parent and team have access to which allows the team to send daily photo updates and observations, provides a messenger chat section for parents and Team members to communicate with each other during setting open hours, keyworkers of children to send seasonal reports on child’s progress and for parents to keep up to date with the ‘news and upcoming events’ in setting, invoices are to sent via blossom educational app

Outings (safety equipment, the Lower Adult to child ratio to accommodate this and insurance costs for this to take place)

Additional learning sessions provided by special visitors in setting sessions and its open hours e.g Dave Hickory fun with maths sessions the dancing lady all factored into our curriculum in setting.

All childcare settings accepting children who receive funding require the parent/ Carer to complete a Declaration form within notice of the start of every term.
A member of the Barley Burrow’s supervisor team/ Manager will present the parent declaration to you in the weeks leading up to the start of the next term.
2 months notice is required before reducing sessions and or leaving us.
